However, patients receiving a medium-energy treatment may want a topical anesthetic. Patients usually receive their numbing cream ahead of time. They apply this cream about 30 minutes before their appointment. That way, once they arrive, their treatment can begin right away.

Patients receiving higher-energy treatments may receive an injectable anesthetic before their session begins.

Since the AGEJET device does make noise, some patients prefer to wear earplugs during their treatment.

1. One of our skilled practitioners cleanses the patient’s face.
2. A gel is applied at the hairline and on the eyebrows.
3. The practitioner gently moves the Rock Hill AGEJET handpiece over the treatment areas. The heat from the handpiece penetrates deep into the skin, leaving the outer layer fully intact.

What To Expect Directly Following a Rock Hill AGEJET Treatment

Preparing for an AGEJET Treatment

Two weeks before treatment:

Patients must refrain from spending an excessive amount of time in the sun or tanning for at least two weeks before their treatment. In addition, during this timeframe, patients must wear sun protection with an SPF of 30+ zinc oxide or a titanium dioxide-based sunblock. The patient must apply these products to all the areas receiving treatment.

One week before treatment:

Don’t use scrubs, washes or any other product that exfoliates the skin.
Patients who use products to treat tretinoins (e.g., cosmetics that contain Retin A) must stop using them at least a week before their AGEJET treatments and a month after.

Potential Side Effects

As with every procedure, there are side effects to consider.

Possible side effects include:

• Changes in skin texture.
• Skin lightening.
• Scarring.
• Pigment irregularities.
